Statistics

My name is Sandra and I’ve been a single mom for 18 years. God blessed with me with three
children who are my world. When my children were small I would hear people talk about statistics of children from broken homes. The statistics all said that children from broken homes were more likely to
grow up and make homes just like the ones they came from, get into more trouble, use drugs, etc.  This broke my heart because I did not want my children becoming a statistic.  My preacher told me that most statistics are true; however, it was up to me how my children turned out.  He said that they did not have to become a statistic. From that day on I decided that my children were NOT going to be a statistic and I’ve worked very hard to make sure that they did not turn into a statistic.

My children are far from perfect and I am the first to tell you that. But I believe it is the job of the parent to make sure that their children do not turn into statistics. As a single mother I know just how hard it is to raise children. It is twice as hard, if not harder than that, on a single parent.

The purpose of this blog is to encourage you. To try to help you have the strength to get up every day and raise your kids for God. Without you, your children do not have a chance at all!  Please read my blog when you have a chance and share your thoughts with me as well.  You are not alone out there and with the help of each of us we can get through this and become better parents and raise better children.  God bless you!
